Dr. Tom M. Weil
Dr. Tom W. Weil is a well-known and nationally respected oral and maxillofacial surgeon with over 40 years of experience. Having graduated from Tulane University as an undergraduate ( 1961) , Dr. Weil completed his dental degree at Baylor College of Dentistry (1965) and finished his residency at Ochsner Foundation Hospital and Clinic, New Orleans ( 1971). He also completed an internship at the United States Air Force Hospital, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois (1965-1966).
Today, Dr. Weil is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Among his many accomplishments, he is also a former examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the certifying board for the specialty.
Dr. Weil has been and is currently a professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center - Houston Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and a clinical associate professor at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Dr. Weil has been active in local and national dental and oral and maxillofacial surgery associations and is a past president of the Texas, Houston and Southwest Societies of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.
He has lectured locally and nationally on a number of topics related to Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. His special interests in the field include dentoalveolar surgery, dental and oral maxillofacial implants, orthognathic surgery, and the diagnosis and management of facial pain.
