Steve L. Koo, MS, DDS

Dr. Steve Koo is proud to be a Houston native, born and raised here after his parents emigrated from South Korea. His dental career started by attending Texas A&M where he obtained a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering, graduating with honors. He went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Texas Health Science Center in 1999.

After he decided to specialize in oral surgery, Dr. Koo completed a dedicated residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, graduating in 2007. He then joined Dr. Thomas Weil to start our practice with the mission of providing top-level care for patients in need of dental implants, orthognathic surgery, cleft palate treatment, and cosmetic surgery.

Today, Dr. Koo is an active member of the American Dental Association, a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a Fellow of the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. In addition to his duties here, he also serves as the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Memorial Hermann Hospital and is a staff member at West Houston Hospital. On top of this, he is a board member of the Greater Houston Dental Society, a Texas Dental Association delegate, and part of the Advisory Council for the UT Health Science Center Dental School.

Thanks to his work and dedication both inside and outside of our practice, Dr. Koo has been voted as a “Texas Super Dentist” and “Top Dentist” in Houston Monthly and Houstonia magazines several years in a row.
